Book Review: Walk Like You Have Somewhere to Go

Lucille O’Neal with Allison Samuels

This book journeys through the shoes of a remarkable woman who has been through a great deal in her lifetime. The life of Lucille O’Neal hasn’t been easy, but it has been rewarding. This book reiterates, if you remain in faith and seek God, He can surely bring you through as he has done in the life of Lucille.

O’Neal describes the life she had growing up and the life she now lives as the mother of one of the biggest names in NBA, Shaquille O’Neal. It is very clear, though Shaquille is the oldest child, her other children as just as loved and appreciated.

O’Neal reminds the reader continuously that God will never leaves us. We may drift away but God is waiting with open arms for us. O’Neal continuously thanks her mother for making sure her connection to God was always in tact, no matter what life brought her.

O’Neal makes it very clear that it is by God alone that she is where she is today. She has traveled a long way, and I believe her journey has brought her to this place, with this book, to help and encourage others along their faith walk. It certainly has done that with me.
